AVOID Going Unnoticed at Russian Speed Dating Events
All throughout the world, Russian women are thought to be quite desirable. Part of it might be popular media — there are a lot of supermodels who come from the former Soviet Union, creating an image, whether true or not, that all Russian women are lithe, tall, supermodels with cheekbones so sharp that they seem to slice the air itself.
Whether or not that popular image is true is not all that important. The point is that that popular image is extant and it’s an image that drives men all over the world into what they hope will be the arms of a Russian woman.
Many of them begin that journey into the arms of a Russian woman by booking singles vacations that include speed dating events.
But there’s just one problem.
You may not only have a lack of experience with Russian women, you might not have the experience with speed dating as well.
Those two strains of inexperience can combine to sabotage a guy’s romantic journey. Maybe he makes a fool of himself. Or maybe he doesn’t make any kind of impression at all.
That’s one caveat when it comes to speed dating; people go on so many dates in such a short period of time that a guy that doesn’t make an impression can become a faceless, almost amorphous but still vaguely human-shaped thing that fades into the background.
A guy who fails to make an impression can find himself not even being a face in the crowd. Instead, his face blends into the wall. Which is not the kind of thing that you’d want to have happen when dating Russian women.
Luckily, there are a few things that a guy like you can do to keep yourself from becoming just another thing that might not even be in a Russian woman’s periphery.
Dress to the nines
Russian women do not play around when it comes to how they present themselves to the world. There’s a cultural-ingrained practice of dressing to the nines even when it’s just a quick trip to the grocery store. Even if they’re just going to pick up milk, they’ll put on makeup and maybe even some heels.
So a guy who shows up in jeans and a wrinkled T-shirt isn’t going to make the best kind of impression on them. If you do find yourself planning to go to a speed dating event, make sure to have a pressed shirt and some pleated pants on hand to wear.
Be committal about marriage
Russian women tend to get married at just under 25 years old, since the average age for a first marriage is 24.9 years old. So a lot of Russian women who are older than that age or approaching that age and not yet getting hitched might find themselves needing to kick their search for a husband in high gear.
So a guy who’s noncommittal about marriage isn’t likely to make the right kind of impression on her. If you approach Russian women and say that you want a casual relationship or that you want to take it slow, then you’ve sabotaged your chances of making a good impression on them. They’ll notice you, but it’ll be the wrong kind of impression.
But if you’re the kind of guy that’s looking to walk down the aisle as soon as possible, then that’s going to get you the right kind of attention from Russian women.
Mention family
Part of the reason that women in Russia get married earlier than they do in the United States is because of how family-oriented the culture is. The Russian people are encouraged not just to start families as soon as possible but also to maintain close relationships with their families.
So if your family, like your parents or siblings, are still up and kicking, then maybe mention that you’ve got good relationships with them. On a related note, maybe mention that you’re open to having kids pretty soon, that’ll get you the right kind of attention.
Be ambitious
If there’s one thing that Russian women like in their men, it’s ambition. They don’t want a woman that’s just going to lay about the house and do nothing. They want a man who knows what kind of future he wants and works hard to make that vision into a reality.
If you’ve accomplished all of your professional goals, then mention that. It may not be the same as a man who’s about to go out and conquer the world, but it’s better than a guy who wants to just sit around all day.
Tease her a little bit
This one might seem a little counterintuitive since teasing is something that bullies do, but a little bit of light ribbing can seriously make an impression. Good-natured teasing is often a sign of being at ease.
Think about it though, a beautiful woman as a speed dating event is going to have lots of guys falling at her feet to fawn over her. Eventually, they’re all going to start to look and sound the exact same. You don’t want to be part of that faceless monolith of men that is basically worshipping her. You want to be different.
Don’t be mean about it, though. Being mean will embed you in her memory, but not in a good way.
Smell good
So, the sense that is most closely linked to memory is smell. Which is why spritzing on cologne will help you on your quest to find love. You may become part of the faceless crowd at first, but she might later remember the smell of your cologne and your face will come to mind. Just make sure to not lay your scent on too thick.
Try to use unscented soap and deodorant if possible so as to not have your cologne compete with the soap and the deodorant. It might not be a great combination or it might be an overwhelming one.
Becoming background decor when you’re speed dating is not a fate that you want. Luckily, there are some steps you can take to avoid such a fate.
